Save Money Planning Your Party In Advance

With the end of year quickly approaching ostensibly the New Year advances so to revitalize leather bound planners and retouch the already enormous amount of social gatherings and events of your responsibility. Be it birthdays, baby showers, extended family dinners, or casual parties with your peers while not immediate research and preparation will yield the largest monetary reward in the end. Let’s examine your next social gathering and ways in which to save the most.

[1] Shorten the Guest List – A substantial guest list can quickly deplete your budget as well as set off a negative chain reaction to your personal finances, not always limited to the week of your party but potentially longer. You should welcome into your home only a small amount of people who you feel you can provide with attention, since you will be pulling double duty as hostess and cook. The smaller the parties the most intimate its feel within your home, leaving your guests feeling cherished and welcomed.

[2] Toss the RSVP Cards – Stationary can be an expensive waste to your budget much before you begin to purchase the supplies you will, food, and beverages. Frugal planning is about curtailing all expenditures that are not necessary. Instead of spending your money on invitations consider the cost, time, and postage. Within the twenty-first century options are available to sent electronic invitations to your guests by electronic mail as well as smart phones. In addition you can never go wrong with calling your guests.

[3] Go With a Potluck – By altering responsibilities you will be pleasantly surprised as to how much money you will save. If you have a potluck event you will be required to purchase and prepare one (1) main item for larger gatherings and two (2) for those much smaller, since all guests will bring a favorite dish to share. Hosting a potluck event may induce fear for first time party-holders which is quite normal, you do not want to end up with a cooked turkey and four green-bean casseroles. To reduce duplicate dishes communicate with your guests as to what they plan on bringing, assign a theme, or request a particular category such as the main course or dessert tasks.

[4] Justify the Beverage List – In your adult events alcohol is a great beverage but having an open bar will set your budget back a pretty penny. If you desire to have alcohol I advise you to limit variety and fancy. Remember you can also always request your guests bring their favorite alcoholic drinks. You must remember, however, that even in adult parties you will have guests who cannot partake in alcohol consumption which means other options are needed raising the expense of an already expense party plan. With family related gatherings it is less expensive to purchase two liters instead of individual 12-ounce cans; however, if you discover a deal you should stock up prior to the event. Lastly, with children’s parties forgo the soda due to hyperactivity at all costs, but do remember stocking up prior will in return save you the largest return.

Color Tips For Your Website and What You Need To Know

Whether you are designing your website for its first appearance on the globally interconnected World Wide Web or redesigning so to keep abreast of evolving twenty-first century website initiatives; you must first involve yourself within an important area, foregoing all graphical uploads and code establishment, known as preplanning. Initially all successful websites are constructed acknowledging the primary objectives of the domain; be that to profit from the selling of goods/services, to provide knowledge either personally or professionally, to assist or yield support, or build a self-created brand. Preplanning allows the vital clarity that will mold and shape your passage into the actual creation process; it is indeed the heart of a website’s longevity, profitability and successfulness over time.

There are many considerations that you will need to focus upon prior to taking your first step into website design and website development. Colors often go uncovered when accessing blogs that provide you will the best tips to a successful website, yet your chosen pallet is of deep significance. Your color choices convey many variables to your viewers and also may be a factor that keeps traffic coming back, if you are consistent in your design. Let’s look at the various colors and a simplistic meaning to each, prior to the creation or redesign of your website.

[Red] Emancipates website owners with much energy and power, this color is much to do about retail in that it is colorized to clearance, sales, new items, promotional offers, coupons, and so forth. Medical websites are common users of red font colors outside of retail means. Red is recommended to create a sense of urgency and importance for viewers. With positives and negatives this color is warned as to be used only sparingly; red also represents blood, violence, anger and hunger. It is a common misunderstanding that red stands for love, however love is commonly shaded with pink.

[Pink] Within the present century pink is the most common feminine font choice due to the look and feel of romantics; the color also backs many icons. Typical websites that embrace pink stand for the breast cancer awareness cause, adult sex toys retailers, mothers who are proud bloggers, services for young woman/girls, and pregnancy related support websites. Pink is also a very limited text color, used as a source for love as well.

[Yellow] Youthful and optimistic, this color is better known as an attention grabber. However, website owners are warned against the use of this color that can also yield caution; yellow is very hard on the eyes when used with black/red text and a white background. Yellow may be used to as to highlight a perception that the website owner needs to make clearly visible to the reader.

[Orange] Similar to red’s anger, this color is most commonly known for its aggressiveness. Nonetheless businesses and personal users tend to swing to orange when needing to indicate a specific website/landing page action; the color should be used across the entire site with the same indication not to confuse the viewer.

[Green] – May be a color to shy away from in that the color is immensely attached to money and with that wealth and status. Typically text of this color will represent financial websites and some entertainment websites. This color is also associated with the word “go”.

[Blue] Indicates the sensation of security and trust and is common on websites today, mainly businesses and that of banks. You will note that almost all websites offering up certification icons, award icons, and assurance typically will do this by icons of the color. It have been said blue icons or text puts that website into a perfect leading position due to the trust, honesty, and loyalty of a color provision.
[Purple] A limiting color that is used by beauty websites, some service websites, and within the twenty first century a mass of anti-aging websites and products. Soothing and calm in meaning text of this shade may give readers the wrong impression if used on a landing domain.

[Black] – Yields a powerful and sleek look that also may be viewed as sophisticated and posh luxurious. You should know that black is the suggested color to text on all websites due to the color being easy to read and perfect for the eyes.

No Christmas Gift Exchange For Us

It is estimated that the average American spent over $400 on gifts this Christmas season, with the rebounding economy to thank for the largest retail boom in nearly a decade. However, the Christmas 2010 season provided sincerity far more distinctive, veritable, and non-traditional for my household as absolutely no gifts were purchased nor exchanged. While it is far too early to announce the makings of an annual event, I desired to share a delightfully personal holiday occurrence with and expand a bit on the message as many are currently blogging their own holiday happenings.

For the better part of five years I have swallowed my pride so to participate on a theory I failed to agree with but the monetary commercialization of a holy Christmas day proved to be too much this season. Overrated and ridiculous retail dominance prevailed so year after year the concept of “faith” is to become tattered, torn, and shattered; the true meaning is often unknown or never taught to the future generation. Christian rights are revoked so to be politically correct and with it Christ’s birth has been mutilated within a present day society.

Corrupted by the next sale a gluttonous plethora of individuals make their way through shopping mall mazes like rats to the man, buying and spending without Biblical thought, most Christian themselves. A soon to be mother, activist, and Christian I felt that my seasonal duty was to teach the true meaning of a holiday that currently suffers a retailed death, thus December 25, 2010 for my family was spent reflecting on self-discovery of the true religious meaning of Christmas. However, being respectful to a fellow man who may believe something different with the essential key understanding the love and admiration of diversity within a world.

No Bake Christmas Cookies/Brownie Holiday Gifts

Christmas is around the bend as the children countdown hours instead of days. Many are still wrapping gifts, while counterparts are absolutely completed; ye we not forgot those caught in a panic as the shopping aspect still yet remain. I have provided many offers too good to pass up and assisted to the best of my ability to keep credit cards to the lowest possible amount and the highest possible amount safe within the banking account. As I receive honorable gratitude from readers I am also noticing the questions have increased as to last minute gift ideas without spending on a taxed budget. Quickly I wanted to share a favorite option, cookies.

In reality cookies, baked at home, are less than $5 in product cost with a yield for a few people you may still not have gifts for. I believe last year I worked out the factors to cookies being about $0.41 per dozen per person, or less. It’s the absolute best way to decrease your Christmas panic and cut corners to insure everyone has a gift they love. Please be aware of food allergies before you give the gift of delicious treats, especially if you are using nuts. Look up your favorite cookie recipe on the Internet and spend the snowy afternoon in your kitchen with your children, not only the perfect holiday gift but perfect family share time.

Peanut Butter & Chocolate No Bake Christmas Cookie
3 cups oatmeal (instant/quick cooking)
2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup peanut butter
½ cup melted butter
½ cup milk
2 to 2.5 cups of sugar
½ cup of cocoa
pinch of salt

In a large sauce pan combine sugar, milk, cocoa, salt, and butter and mix very well before bringing to a boil and covering for 30 seconds; please make sure you use non-stick kitchen pans for your holiday no bake cookies. You will want to cover until your last remaining sugar crystals have cleared the side of your sauce pan. Let stand for 1 minute before removing from the heat and adding in the peanut butter and vanilla, until smooth. Next add oatmeal making sure to mix everything very well, double check the oat meal so to not be dealing with anything but the instant/quick oats variety; the recipe will not be a success with any other kind of this main essential ingredient. Once you have added this the mixture needs to stand until 10 minutes, stir occasionally so some liquid is sponged by the oatmeal. Be very careful using caution due to heat, drop mixture by the spoonful onto your prepared wax/parchment lined paper. Once you can comfortably touch the drops shape these into rolled ball shapes. Cool completely, store covered tightly at room temperature. (To make no-bake brownies pour into a greased 9-inch pan, when cool cut into squares for your Christmas guests; pan should be greased with unsalted butter for the best effect).

Cookie yield: 2 dozen
Cost: $1.25 per dozen
Wrap in holiday plastic wrap and tie with decorative bow + $0.10 craft store

Cabin Fever and Children: Mayhem Indoors

A bitter chill of winter has arrived prematurely to many parts of the country, as an explosive weather map reveals the coupling dance of frigid Canadian air and precipitation. Difficult challenges have now been posed from coast to coast as old and young alike attempt to deal with the biting closures of cabin fever. As many parents know winter’s encapsulatation is quite dreadful especially when we also are finding great difficulty adjusting to the seasonal mayhem. Entertainment begins to become a prevalent thought as our youngsters grow much antsier seemingly with each minute that passes, as we hustle to find something to engage the mind before the occurrence of a youthful meltdown. Keep the tears at bay with winter preparation, challenge your mind to create a guide to active indoor entertainment based upon the age of your child/children. Here’s a few helpful hints that may work for entertaining the inquiring minds in your household:

-Duck, Duck, Goose: is a classic that covers all parenting bases this winter. As we are all familiar the tagging game needs only a small space in which it can be played with merely a couple of participants. It’s also perfect for a wide range of ages and has the potential to engage those little minds for hours.

-Build a Fort: Gather pillows, couch cushions, blankets, throws, sleeping bags, and the imagination of your child/children for forts indoors. You may also brave the winter weather to construct a fort from the snow accumulating in inches outdoors making bricks from Tupperware to large plastic storage containers that all parents have on hand, insure you bundle your little ones up well and let their imagination guide the building process. Once the structure is built there are no limits to your child’s entertainment.

-RockStars and Musical Jams: From pots and pans, boxes, and spoons anything in your home can safely be turned into a percussion instrument for musical achievement. Write and sing your own songs and do not forget to get a bit crazy. You may also desire to dress up and use items from all over the house for your gig, allow your children to dress themselves and even the family pet for hours of silly sounds.  Engage the use of technology into your music for even more fun.

-Games, Games, and more Games: Always a surefire passage to entertainment for all ages. Throughout the year stockpile a number of board games, crayons, coloring pencils, markers, and so forth into one area for your entertainment emergencies. You may also choose to collect new video games/computer games for older children that they have not gotten used to by age and interest. Flashcards provide both entertainment and education when school is not in session and putting the heads of parents and children together you can quickly create your own games and rules for hours of entertainment for an entire family unit.

There is no limit to the things you can create, make, bake with a little imagination.

Building a Successful Website for Your Business (How To)

Triumphant preplanning may take an extended period of time but is a fundamental and central investment into a website. Subsequent to preplanning the difficult journey of website development dominates your process; website development takes not only commitment but investment and cannot be rushed. With a variant of critical factors that are mandatory of your consideration summit, in my option your most significant factor is first impression. The design in which you choose for your website must not only be of cutting edge innovation but such design essentially has to portray the correct image of your preplanning objectives. While each subdomain yields an importance to the overall objectives made, there is no other page as valuable as the landing page or domain page. As the primary structure of your website the landing page will serve as the first page viewed, regardless of how large or how small your website may be.

Item placement, text entry, functional code, and graphical uploads requisite your advanced knowledge of the current day trends that will work in conjunction so to add value to the overall web complexity. Nonetheless, those making up your traffic will determine your website’s value in merely seconds; such determination will either make the website successful or crumble all investments - in short your landing page determines your future profitability. Research has discovered that website longevity is due to appeal, a viewers attention must be grabbed the moment the landing page is brought up; in addition the reader must be convinced that the website offers something of deep value. The question becomes how to create a successful landing page that captivates attention for profitability? Prior to starting your investment you will need to educate yourself with all in which your landing page needs.

1. A elite headline to catch viewer attention true to your preplanned objectives. You must make sure that the landing page and your website advertisement compliments each other, especially important if you are using Google Adwords to gain traffic to your business/website. An elite headline should be easy to read but elite enough to catch at first glance.

2. A stout secondary headline to yield further explanation of your website. You should understand that regardless of situation the headline will be the primary text read, a poor choice will drive your traffic away instantly. You should always address your objective clearly and clean up anything your viewer may perceive as vague.

3. Impeccable grammar/spelling not only in the headlines but in all aspects but your page and subdomain pages is essential to profiting. Simply the use of sloppy writing skills, spelling, and grammar will lessen the trust your reader has for your website; it may also provoke questioning with so much falseness on the Internet. If your website is selling an item poor grammer/spelling pushes away buyers who much provide credit card and other specific information. You must bring your traffic in and treat them well to ensure they return and put their word out about your website.

4. Provides aspects that build trust in a mere glance such as testimonials from buyers/readers, guarantee seals, award icons, and even your seals from the Better Business Bureau (if applicable). The same needs to be included on each website subdomain so that the reader stays assured of your verification. In addition any portion of the website allowing a transaction must be protected and an indication of such will be required.

5. The provision of what the reader is required to do or requested to do as a next step, this could be as simple as sharing an item or article with a choice social media interface or the call to duty to leave a comment or place in a cart. This next step should clearly be shown to indicate moving forward in a proper direction. In example, I recently altered my website to indicate it is best viewed using the Firefox browser from Mozilla; other professional websites invite users to use Mozilla Firefox, Bing, Paypal, or Google or a specific credit card for cashback.

6. While it may be the complete opposite of your website development thought, you should limit the links used on your landing page. Links are a provided web distraction and the more that are used makes your website overwhelming to the viewer. You should also be aware that the inclusion of links may be fine on pages other than the landing domain but should withstand a limit of five (5) or less on the landing webpage. Simplicity is vital to returning viewers and an expensive lesson learned if such simplicity is broken. Do not stress out the eyes of those who are determining the value your page within seconds but give them something to peak curious interest.

7. The buttons used graphically on your website as well as all action indications and keywords should stand out on your landing page and be consistent on the entire website of your choice. Buttons that are orange/yellow may stand out a bit better than those which blend in with the color pallet that structures your entire website, especially that of the landing domain. You must remember to never use animation, oversized icons, bright colors, and cluttered graphics when desiring to standout; all standings should be a mere subtle change that is not overwhelming to the eye. Keywords should be simply searched for.

8. At a glance and above the crease brings about the greatest amount of success for a website owner, simply this means important concepts of the landing domain should be placed where your viewing traffic are not forced to scroll down. In example, on your favorite retail website you will notice all sales and promotions are clear to the eye without scrolling. I refer to this as a method to website madness when profits are to be made. I cannot stress enough how important it is not to have traffic seeking to find vital factors on your landing page or your website subdomain.

Lastly, yet not a bulleted number you should always be testing your website; various things do break and these errors never come with a set date or time.  Tool retailer Harbor Freight’s brand new website goes down quite a bit at the most vital of page options, checkout. If your page collects errors not only profits will be lost but viewers will be lost quickly. In addition you should always look for new innovation to websites during the twenty-first century, add fresh new trials so to see what works best for the production of traffic and profit. Stay on top of your initial objectives and do not shy away.

Christmas Delivery Dates for Online Shoppers

With online purchasing on the rise within a rebounding economy I have received many inquiries as to shipping arrivals in time for Christmas. Please pay close attention to the website you are wrapping up your holiday shopping with, each website has set its own guidelines based on the companies centralized warehousing facilities. You may also want to shop websites that have items in stock at your local store, for in store pick up such as Best Buy; however, with the season before you purchase you much insure your local store has the item. I always like to check once online and one in store to insure this.

Sears Wear Out Guarantee and KidVantage for Mom

Expecting our little one in March my avid frugality is in overdrive, at times seemingly stuck there. Starting with absolutely zero items for baby, I must say how surprised I am that something so small requires so much; even after omitting a dozen or so items from the checklist, items I felt did not apply due to intent or was of no necessary requirement. Around the time of my illness and after a battery of tests eight years prior I was crushed with the knowledge that I would never be able to have a child as my body could never carry a child, I was just not healthy enough. It was a child I wanted so badly in that I refused to give up trying to conceive; praying for a blessing, if only one, I wanted nothing more badly. Miscarriage after miscarriage ensued, mentally torn I opted to raise the flag of defeat and cease the attempt. I would never carry a child, within. With a product review of an herbal root for menstrual cramps I would discover myself pregnant and waiting for the day of loss, growing accustomed. Successfully clearing the first two hurdles, I’m now into a third trimester with less than ten (10) weeks until a 38-week full term consideration with less than twelve (12) from my due date.

Accustomed to loss I must say that even yet I am deeply worried, perhaps even expecting the worse. Due to my chronic and terminal illness, at the middle portion of the second trimester my health rapidly declined; most importantly the little bean has yet to have issue and has remained healthy. The evidence point towards not being able to carry a child with so much that has rapidly went wrong, I’m even currently having Braxton Hicks that are grueling when additionally placed on top of normalized chronic pain.  I vowed I would not purchase any items for the new arrival until a point in my pregnancy that if the unexpected occurred my child would survive, I just never set the date as to when my first purchase would be. Earlier in December I found myself browsing again for the largest items and of my astonishment the prices had been cut more than half on every item I had on my pregnancy wish list. At such savings it was a steal I could not pass on and the overdrive frugalist got to me; I purchased without the consideration of ‘what-if’ and thought of the doubt much later. I was able to purchase almost $1,000 worth of furniture for a precious nursery and the largest of items for baby for $401.61 free from shipping costs too; my bump is still dancing to such a steal. Again we needed everything.

Even more astounding this baby sale was a one day only Christmas event, the following day brought the prices back up to the costs in which I was attempting to work out unknowing as to how we would afford to get ready for the arrival of baby bean. I want to wait to purchase infant apparel as I am clueless of what to purchase, how many, and the sizes. However, I am watching for a steal as I ran into with the baby items mentioned above. Today I ran across a blog in regards to Sears “Wear out Guarantee” which primarily begins with a free membership, as a mother that is important. As part of ‘KidVantage’ at Sears, the “Wear out Guarantee” protects from serious washers like myself; stating that if clothes or shoes wear out before they are outgrew Sears will replace them absolutely free of cost. While this will not help my quandary as to what I need for an infant  that will most definably grow out of items quickly, it at least assists in providing free replacements. In addition I will ascertain discounts and specials through the year with membership and 15% will be saved on every purchase I make for the little one as well as my family are due the same 15% discount. So I save a bit. Every mother can sign up free and join the clothing and shoes promise for free at Sears, this discount does not apply to online shopping or those who are not close to a Sears store.

Frugally Saving in a Rural Community - Dollar General Store

Residing within a small township in rural Kentucky most certainly has its positive advantages, especially for the avid frugalist; nonetheless, living rurally has a fair share of perceived negative disadvantages as well. While I absolutely adore bringing a future generation up in near to the area in which I was also brought up within, I’ve experienced several inconveniences that my parents did not endure; these nuisances related to living farther out of area. It was not until mid-2010 that the outlook corrected itself and did so in a way that had the frugalist within me jumping for joy, we received a Dollar General Store!

I admit, the grand opening of a Dollar General Store seems ridiculous to be gleefully excited about; I completely understand why you’re laughing, my dear readers. Former to this, a common trip to any store included an estimated roundtrip travel time of an hour; which mathematically equates to two hours on the road if the forgetful side of me purchased the eggs yet failed to remember the milk. I made this work, constructing each trip so that each functioned as a whole day of mundane life related activities; many times life intervened to bring about more trips into town and the youngster would tire easily which in return would enervate my patience.

The frugalist within never failed to calculate other factors, that can easily be forgotten; the cost of lost time, the monthly sum of fuel, maintenance on the vehicle, wear on the tires, additional snacks, lost sippy cups, lunch, applicable speeding tickets. With that said, having a Dollar General Store was indeed a gift from above and the much needed answer to my silent protests. We just didn’t receive a regular store but a much larger community store; triple the size of the typical variety. Having a time-friendly interior blueprint the store is segmented into four rather large areas; hardware, health and beauty, household products, and grocery. This is an additional benefit to regular Dollar General merchandise, which is central to these four extra sections. Undeniably, the grand opening was a score for the budgeted banking account, the frugalist within the shopper, the husband, and future generation; just three minutes away.

If truth be told very seldom did I shop with the retailer in the past, in result I was unaware of the in-store coupons and additional discounts until I researched the website. In less than five (5) minutes I had brushed up on my Dollar General know how, signed up for coupons and sales, and found other frugalists who swear by their only community store -- in no time I started to stack coupons and save even more! Many ways to save currently exist which I am happy to share with readers, such as:
